Vorys Welcomes Nine First-Year Associates

Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP is pleased to welcome nine new first-year associates to the firm. Matt Gutierrez, Amanda Miggo, Francisco Rolon and Gretchen Rutz joined the Columbus office; Jacob Bartlett, Megan Hurd and Stephen Self joined the Cincinnati office; Anne Hurst and Cauley Simmons joined the Cleveland office; and Reed Fryar and Joseph Markell joined the Houston office.

Columbus

Matt D. Gutierrez practices in the corporate group. He recently graduated from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where he was the managing editor for the Ohio State Law Journal. He received his B.S. summa cum laude from Ohio University. His legal experience includes serving as a Vorys summer associate in 2018.

Amanda M. Miggo practices in the labor and employment group. She recently graduated from Capital University Law School. She received her B.A. magna cum laude from Capital University. Her legal experience includes serving as a corporate counsel intern at Safelite Group, Inc. and as a Vorys summer associate in 2018. Prior to attending law school, she was a legal assistant intern at Manley, Deas & Kochalski, LLC and a legal intern for Judge Craig Baldwin for the Fifth District Court of Appeals.

Francisco (“Cisco”) J. Rolon practices in the litigation group. He recently graduated from Georgetown University Law Center. He received his B.S. from Florida International University. His legal experience includes working as a legal extern in the Bureau of Competition at the Federal Trade Commission and serving as a Vorys summer associate in 2018.

Gretchen M. Rutz practices in the technology and intellectual property group. She recently graduated from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law, where she was the staff and online editor for the Ohio State Law Journal. She received her Bachelor or Music in Music Education summa cum laude from Capital University. Her legal experience includes serving as a judicial extern to Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor for the Supreme Court of Ohio. She also served as a Vorys summer associate in 2018.

Cincinnati

Jacob M. Bartlett practices in the finance, energy and real estate group. He recently graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law. He received his B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Kentucky. His legal experience includes serving as a law clerk for Lockaby PLLC and a Vorys summer associate in 2018.

Megan E. Mirka practices in the technology and intellectual property group. She recently graduated from the University of Cincinnati College of Law. She received her B.A. summa cum laude from The Ohio State University. Her legal experience includes serving as a judicial extern to the Honorable Susan J. Dlott in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio and as a Vorys summer associate in 2018.

Cleveland

Anne E. Hurst practices in the technology and intellectual property group. She recently graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where she was the executive articles editor for Case Western Reserve Law Review. She received her B.S. summa cum laude from Emerson College. Her legal experience includes serving as a legal extern for the Federal Trade Commission and as a Vorys summer associate in 2018.

Cauley P. Simmons practices in the finance, energy and real estate group. She recently graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Law. Cauley received her B.A. with honors from Clemson University. Her legal experience includes serving as a legal extern at the Office of Legal Affairs at John Carroll University and as a Vorys summer associate in 2018.

Houston

Reed E. Fryar practices in the technology and intellectual property group. She recently graduated from the University of Houston Law Center, where she was the chief articles editor of the Houston Business & Tax Law Journal. She received her B.A. cum laude from the University of Houston. Her legal experience includes serving as a legal intern to general counsel, Carlotta Ramirez at the Museum of Fine Arts and as a Vorys summer associate in 2018.
