California Property Tax Appeals: November 30th Deadline Approaching

The California assessment appeals filing period is underway, giving property owners an opportunity to challenge tax assessments that may not reflect current fair market value.  Owners can present evidence such as appraisals, comparable sales, income statements, vacancy data, condition issues, or other market-based support to achieve lower tax assessments, resulting in lower property tax bills.  Vorys has significant experience in analyzing tax assessments and securing property tax savings for property owners across California.  Since 2020, Vorys has achieved more than $175 million in real property valuation reductions across the state.

The majority of California counties have a critical deadline of November 30, 2026 for filing property tax assessment appeals.  If your property is located in one of these counties, timely action is essential to protect your interests and pursue property tax savings.
