Jabari A. Shaw

Jabari is an associate in the Vorys Cincinnati office.  He focuses his practice on intellectual property protection, primarily in the areas of trademark and copyright law.

Jabari has experience counseling clients on trademark and copyright licensing, trademark filing and enforcement strategies, as well as domain dispute resolution proceedings.  He also has experience in brand protection in the eCommerce space and has significant experience designing and implementing enforcement strategies.

He has experience counseling athletes and entertainers and helping them structure and utilize sponsorship deals, licensing contracts, marketing campaigns and other promotional activities to help with the commercial growth of their individual brands and personas.  His notable experience in this area includes working with collegiate and professional athletes, musicians and influencers to maximize the use of their name, image and likeness.

Jabari has experience counseling clients on antitrust issues regarding price fixing and compliance.  He regularly counsels on vertical pricing issues and how business clients can structure their relationships with distributors and retailers to avoid violations of the Sherman, Clayton and Robinson-Patman Acts.  He also trains executives and sales teams on competition issues and how companies can structure their business operations and communications to lower their antitrust risk.

Jabari received his J.D. from Northern Kentucky University Salmon P. Chase College of Law, where he was an associate editor of the Northern Kentucky Law Review.  He received his M.B.A. from the University of Cincinnati, and his B.S. from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.
