Employer Internal Investigations

We represent employers in enforcement actions, government investigations (both civil and criminal), internal investigations and litigation related to employment matters and catastrophic events.  The firm is frequently called upon to investigate issues of actual or potential wrongdoing by employees or management.  We conduct internal investigations for employers facing complaints of unlawful harassment and discrimination; counsel clients on employee discipline and termination; and advise clients on complying with federal and state laws prohibiting discrimination, harassment and retaliation; workplace safety, including OSHA; the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA); the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); and plant closings and downsizings.  We also conduct pre-litigation investigations, both as neutral investigators and to mount the company's defense to anticipated claims.  We also investigate allegations regarding privacy and information security issues, including data breaches.

We have successfully handled dozens of investigations throughout the U.S. and internationally, ranging from allegations of workplace bullying, whistleblower retaliation and leaks of confidential information to theft of company property, nepotism and discrimination.

We also regularly conduct training programs for clients on conducting their own internal investigations.
