Cook Receives 2023 American Immigration Lawyers Association President’s Commendation Award

Dave Cook, partner in the Vorys Columbus office, was awarded the 2023 American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) President’s Commendation Award.  This award is, according to the AILA, “presented at the discretion of the outgoing AILA president to individuals who have contributed to the success of their presidential year.”

Cook focuses his practice on the representation of businesses and individuals in all areas of immigration and naturalization law.  He speaks Japanese and serves as Honorary Consul of Japan in Columbus.  Cook also frequently presents seminars dealing with employment-related visa and immigration matters and employment-related immigration compliance.

Cook has been involved with the AILA since 2008.  He currently serves as chair of AILA’s Online Course Review Committee.  He previously served as a member of AILA’s 2022 Fall Conference.  Additionally, he served as a member of AILA’s Annual Conference Planning Committee (Business) and as a member of AILA's Distance Learning and Business Committees.  Cook also served as chair of AILA's USCIS Texas Service Center Liaison Committee and as a member of AILA's USCIS Service Center Operations (SCOPS) Liaison Committee.  He served previously as a member of the AILA’s USCIS Texas Service Center Liaison Committee and as a member of the Nebraska Service Center Liaison Committee.
