Vorys’ Legal AI Advancements Featured on 60 Minutes
Vorys and its proprietary AI tools were featured on 60 Minutes on October 4. Kim Herlihy, a partner in the Columbus office and a member of the litigation group, spoke to correspondent L. Jon Wertheim about the firm’s AI personas.
This tool, created in partnership with Stanford Law School’s liftlab, allows attorneys and staff to get feedback and insights from AI versions of senior partners while drafting legal documents.
Herlihy noted that the tool, while not a replacement for the capabilities of experienced legal counsel, provided valuable assistance in improving attorneys’ work.
“AI is never going to walk into the courtroom and give an opening statement to the jury, but it helps us have additional tools to use as we prepare that opening statement.”
She emphasized, however, that the trust built between attorneys and clients could not easily be replaced by an AI tool.
“AI cannot take the place of what’s a fundamentally human business. You call your lawyer because you want to look in their eye and say ‘what should I do about this issue?’”
