Stevens Makes the Shortlist for Chambers USA DEI Award

Vorys is excited to announce that Janay Stevens, a partner in the firm’s Columbus office, is one of ten lawyers named to the shortlist for the 2024 Chambers USA “DEI: Outstanding Contribution” Award.  This award honors partners who have shown an outstanding commitment across multiple strands of DEI in the legal profession.

Stevens was selected for her work as the inaugural chair of the Vorys Diversity Network (VDN).  The VDN is a dedicated space where Vorys’ racially and ethnically-diverse, LGBTQ+ and differently-abled lawyers build community, promote the professional and leadership development of the firm’s underrepresented groups, and leverage their perspectives and experiences to support and advance broader firm initiatives.  The VDN has both affinity and advocacy components.

Stevens is also the founder and leader of the Vorys Initiative for Business Empowerment (VIBE).  The goal of VIBE is to make legal services more accessible to businesses owned by racial and ethnic minorities, thereby driving positive change in the communities where Vorys has offices.  Since its creation in 2020, the VIBE program has assisted more than 100 businesses from across the country.
