Experienced Northeast Ohio Corporate Attorney Joins Vorys as Partner
Vorys announced today that Jake Derenthal, a corporate attorney with decades of experience working with public and private companies, private equity firms, entrepreneurs, and financial institutions, has joined the firm as a partner. He will practice from the firm’s Cleveland and Akron offices.
“Jake has spent his entire career representing clients in connection with complex transactional matters,” said Bryan Falk, managing partner of the Vorys Cleveland office. “He is a great addition to our firm and will be an important asset for our clients in northeast Ohio and beyond.”
Derenthal’s experience includes assisting clients on matters involving mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity issuances, corporate restructurings, fund formation, venture capital and angel investing, strategic alliances, and corporate governance. He also counsels management, directors, and shareholders in connection with entity formation, contract negotiation, operational and employment issues, commercial leasing, financing and exit strategies.
In his practice, Derenthal has assisted clients in a wide range of industries including financial services, health care/dental, real estate, manufacturing, technology, hospitality, cannabis and aerospace sectors.

Derenthal received his J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law and his B.A. from the University of Michigan.
