Ehler Appears in Spectrum News Coverage of Ohio Gas Prices

Tony Ehler, a partner in the Vorys Columbus office and chair of the firm’s probate and tax group, appeared in Spectrum News coverage of Ohio’s gasoline prices.

Ehler noted that higher crude oil prices and disruptions at refineries that serve Ohio are causing a gasoline shortage.

“These two events are taking millions of gallons of refined product out of the supply,” he says, noting that retailers are being forced to source gasoline from non-regional refineries.  “They’re coming from further away.  They’re coming from alternative sources.  That means the pricing is higher.”

Ehler warned that smaller gas stations that rely on regional refineries may end up holding onto their capital rather than continue to purchase gas if prices remain high.
