Vorys Welcomes 2016 Summer Associates

Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease is pleased to welcome 11 summer associates to three of its offices. Andrew T. Jordan, Eric E. Leist, Grant T. Martin, Brigid E. Sharek, Thomas J. Whaling will work in the Columbus office; Brian P. Baxter, Daniel R. Bross, Emily A. Papania, and Andrea B. Sager will work in the Cincinnati office; and Mairi K. Mull and Katie L. Steiner will work in the Cleveland office.

Columbus:

Andrew T. Jordan is a student at the University of Michigan Law School, where he is an associate editor of the Michigan Journal of Race and Law.  He received his Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Washington and his B.A. from Haverford College.  Last summer, he worked as an intern for the Honorable Jeffrey Sutton in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.  Before attending law school, Andrew was a professor at Otterbein University. 

Eric E. Leist is a student at the Indiana University Maurer School of Law, where he is the vice president of the Student Bar Association. He received his B.A. from The Ohio State University.  Eric’s prior legal experience includes serving as a law clerk extern for Justice Stephen David on the Indiana Supreme Court and serving as an intern in the Indiana Attorney General’s Tax Litigation Section.

Grant T. Martin is a student at the Pennsylvania State University Dickinson School of Law, where he is an associate editor of the Penn State Law Review.  He received his B.S. summa cum laude from Pennsylvania State University.  Last summer, he was a legal intern for FedEx Ground. He also worked for a summer as a land intern for Range Resources.

Brigid E. Sharek is a student at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.  She received her M.S. in Biochemistry from the University of Notre Dame and her B.S. from Texas A&M University Corpus Christi. Prior to attending Law School, Brigid worked as a research assistant at the University of Texas at San Antonio and at the University of Notre Dame. 

Thomas J. Whaling is a student at the George Washington University Law School, where he is a George Washington Scholar.  He received his B.A. from Christopher Newport University. Last summer, Thomas worked as an intern in the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office and as an intern for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement Office.

Cincinnati:

Brian P. Baxter is a student at Vanderbilt University Law School, where he is a member of the Vanderbilt Law Review. He received his B.S.B.A. summa cum laude from University of Louisville.  Last summer, Brian was an in-house counsel intern with the Brown-Forman Corporation.

Daniel R. Bross is a student at the University of Notre Dame Law School, where he is a member of the Journal of College and University Law.  He received his B.A. cum laude from The Ohio State University.  Last summer, Daniel was a summer clerk to Magistrate Judge Karen Litkovitz in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio.

Emily A. Papania is a student at the George Washington University Law School, where she is a Thurgood Marshall Scholar. She received her B.A. magna cum laude from George Washington University.  Last summer, Emily served as a law clerk for the Legal Aid Society of Greater Cincinnati.

Andrea B. Sager is a student at the Northern Kentucky University Chase College of Law.  She received her B.B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Pikeville. Andrea is also a member of the Army National Guard and a graduate of the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC).  Her legal experience includes serving as a law clerk at a law firm.

Cleveland:

Mairi K. Mull is a student at William and Mary Law School, where is a member of the William and May Environmental Law and Policy Review.  She received her B.A. summa cum laude from Cleveland State University.  Last summer, Mairi worked as a legal intern for Mental Health Advocacy Services in Los Angeles. 

Katie L. Steiner is a student at the Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where she is an associate editor of the Case Western Reserve Journal of International Law.  She received her M.A. in art history from Williams College and her B.A. summa cum laude from Case Western Reserve University.  Last summer, Katie worked as an intern in the World Intellectual Property Organization’s Office of the Legal Counsel.
