The National Black Lawyers Names Akilah Craig and Janay Stevens to List of Top Lawyers Under 40

Vorys is pleased to announce that Akilah Craig, an associate in the Vorys Houston office, and Janay Stevens, an associate in the Vorys Columbus office, have been selected by The National Black Lawyers for inclusion on the organization’s “Top Lawyers Under 40” List. 

Craig was named to The National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 Lawyers in Texas. She is a member of the labor and employment group and defends employers in and before federal and state courts and administrative agencies on claims arising under various employment statutes, including Title VII, the American with Disabilities Act, and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and their state law counterparts.

Stevens was named to The National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40 Lawyers in Ohio. She is a member of the labor and employment group and focuses her practice on counseling employers in both employment and traditional labor law matters.  Stevens regularly assists employers in complying with the Fair Labor Standards Act, the National Labor Relations Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act and its amendments, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, and the Fair Credit Reporting Act. 

According to The National Black Lawyers, the selection process for the Top 40 Under 40 honors includes multiple phases including peer nominations and third-party research.  Honorees have proven that they exemplify superior qualifications, leadership skills, and case results.
