Miller Quoted in Columbus Dispatch Story on Westerville Eminent Domain Case

Joseph Miller, a partner in the Vorys Columbus office, was quoted as counsel for a landowner in a Columbus Dispatch story regarding an eminent-domain case.  According to the story, the city of Westerville, Ohio has been making changes to properties along State Street and last year sued a landowner, James Taylor, after he refused to give up part of his land for the project.

The story states:

"Taylor appealed a judge’s ruling last year that favored the city, and the case has been to the Ohio Supreme Court, which refused to hear it. It is now back in the Franklin County Court of Appeals for a compensation trial and another possible appeal.

'I’d be very wary if I was Westerville,' Miller said. 'If the city goes on (Taylor’s) property and he ultimately prevails, they’ll need to restore his property back to what it was.'"
