The theme of the event is “The Human Side of Justice: Bridging Law, Care and Community.” This symposium aims to explore how the policies and processes of the justice system impact the justice-involved individual, their community and professionals who work in the justice system, with the goal of understanding and inspiring forward-thinking policies that place the justice-involved individual at the center of the justice system. Topics will include trauma-informed legal practices, a multi-disciplinary approach, system reform through lived experience and more.
