Gartland Appointed to EMLF Executive Committee

Vorys is pleased to announce that Sheila Nolan Gartland, a partner in the Columbus Office and a member of the finance, energy and real estate group, was recently appointed to the Energy & Mineral Law Foundation (EMLF) Executive Committee.

The EMLF is a national nonprofit educational organization which fosters the study of the laws and regulations related to natural resource development and energy use. The Executive Committee, along with the Board of Trustees, governs the organization. It is comprised of less than a dozen leaders versed in the issues facing the industry.

Gartland’s practice focuses on general real estate, real estate development and real estate financing and includes the representation of clients in connection with oil and gas transactions including acquisitions, dispositions, financing, joint ventures, title matters and leasing.  She also manages and works in the firm's oil and gas title opinion practice, which focuses primarily on properties located in the Utica and Marcellus shale plays.

Gartland is a fellow of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and is included in the Best Lawyers in America for real estate law.  She is also a past chair of the Real Property Section Council of the Ohio State Bar Association.
