Overview

Sophia is an associate in the Vorys Orange County office and a member of the labor and employment group.

Representative experience includes:

  • Defending Fortune 500 employers in a broad range of labor and employment law matters, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wrongful discharge and wage-and-hour litigation in both state and federal courts;
  • Drafting employer handbooks, codes of conduct and supplemental state policies; and
  • Conducting internal workplace investigations.

Prior to joining Vorys, Sophia served as a judicial extern for the Honorable Presiding Justice Joanne Motoike of the California Fourth District Court of Appeal, Division Three.

Sophia received her J.D. from the Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law, where she graduated magna cum laude and served as executive notes and comments editor for the Chapman Law Review and vice president of the Alternative Dispute Resolution competition team.  Sophia received Highest Class Grade awards in nine classes during law school.  She graduated summa cum laude from Soka University with a B.A. in international studies.

Sophia is fluent in Spanish.
