As Ohio's Oil and Gas Sector Grows Stronger, STRONGER Inc. Takes on Important Role

Gregory D. Russell, a partner in the Vorys Columbus office, outlined the review of Ohio’s oil and natural gas regulations conducted by the State Review of Oil and Natural Gas Environmental Regulations Inc. (STRONGER Inc.), a stakeholder organization consisting of environmental, state and industry representatives with expertise in the exploration for and production of oil and natural gas resources, in Crain’s Cleveland Business.   Russell found that STRONGER’s reports on Ohio's oil and gas program illustrate why Ohio’s combination of a sensible regulatory program and a proactive, professional regulatory agency have been successful.  He also said STRONGER’s report stated that an estimated 80,000 wells have been hydraulically fractured in Ohio without a single instance of related groundwater contamination.
