David Swift, a partner with Vorys, was recently admitted to practice law in Florida.  Swift has decades of experience counseling clients in the areas of estate planning, estate and trust administration and representation of tax-exempt organizations.

Swift joins other Vorys attorneys who are admitted to practice law in Florida, further expanding the firm’s ability to service its clients in that state.  A growing number of Vorys’ estate planning clients have changed residency to Florida.

Swift has lectured and written extensively on trust and estate topics.  He also serves as a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and the Columbus Bar Association. For these efforts, Swift has been recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel.  In addition, Swift is listed as both one of the Best Lawyers in America and as a Super Lawyer in trusts and estate law.  Swift was also recently named the 2016 Best Lawyers Columbus’ “Trusts and Estates Lawyer of the Year.”  

Swift received his J.D. summa cum laude from The Ohio State University Michael E. Moritz College of Law, where he was a member of the Order of the Coif.  He was a member and an associate editor of the Ohio State Law Journal.  He received his B.A. magna cum laude from Miami University, where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Eta Sigma.
