Jackie Ford, a partner in the Vorys Columbus and Houston offices, spoke with News 92FM Houston about Texas Governor Rick Perry’s efforts to entice California jobs to Texas. In the interview, Ford says that from employment law perspective, Governor Perry may not be incorrect when he says that Texas is better for business than California. She said that California has some obscure laws, which include a regulation that requires employers to “provide” some form of “suitable seating” for any job that can “reasonably” be done from a seated position.
