Cary Quoted in Washington Times Story on Pending NLRB Decision

Nelson Cary, a partner in the firm’s Columbus office, was quoted in a Washington Times story titled “Union fight pits rights of free speech, private land.”  According to the story, the National Labor Relations Board is expected to decide, this year, whether an employer violates the National Labor Rights Act by denying a union access to its property to distribute handbills while permitting other individuals, groups, or organizations to use its property for various solicitation activities.

The story states: “Nelson Cary, a partner at Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP, an Ohio-based law firm that publishes a blog about labor law, is concerned that a ruling in favor of the union will lead businesses to cut off access to all groups, including charities and community groups. ‘Some employers will react to that by banning all types of solicitations, because they don’t want to allow the unions access to their property,’ he said.”
