Jackie Ford, a partner in the firm’s Columbus office, was quoted throughout the article "Do's & Don'ts for Litigation-Proof Affinity Groups." The article, which includes tips on how to develop workplace groups that promote diversity, appeared in the May 17, 2010 edition of Employment Law360.
The article states: “‘Some employees might worry that opening up the membership diminishes the effectiveness of the group, so it's alright if the women's group, for example, sponsors some women-only events, as long as they also open some events up to everyone,’ Ford said. ‘They should be structured as, 'We're here to support our women employees, while anyone is invited to intend, we're going to focus [on women's issues],'’ Ford said.”
