Vorys Welcomes 2018 Summer Associate Class

Vorys is pleased to welcome 14 summer associates to four of its offices. DyTiesha Dunson, Matthew Gutierrez, Amanda Miggo, Finley Newman-James, Erica Rodriguez, Francisco Rolon and Gretchen Rutz will work in the Columbus office; Jacob Bartlett and Megan Hurd will work in the Cincinnati office; Khouloude Abboud, Anne Hurst, Diana Nassar and Cauley Simmons will work in the Cleveland office; and Reed Fryar will work in the Houston office.

COLUMBUS:

DyTiesha Dunson just completed her first year at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.  She received her B.A. cum laude from Florida Gulf Coast University, where she was the captain of the women’s Division 1 basketball team. 


Matthew Gutierrez is a student at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and a staff editor at the Ohio State Law Journal. He received his B.S. from Ohio University. Matthew was also a Vorys summer associate in 2017.


Amanda Miggo is a student at Capital University Law School and staff member of the Capital University Law Review. She received her B.A. magna cum laude from Capital University.  Her legal experience includes working as a corporate counsel intern for Safelite Group, Inc.

Finley Newman-James just completed his first year at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. He received his B.A. cum laude from Capital University. 



Erica Rodriguez is a student at the University of Notre Dame law School, where she is on the Moot Court Board and serves as the co-president of Legal Voices for Children and Youth.  She received her B.S. summa cum laude from Miami University.  Her legal experience includes working at a law firm and in the San Mateo County (California) District Attorney’s Office.

Francisco Rolon is a student at Georgetown University Law Center and a member of the Georgetown Entertainment and Media Alliance Law Review.  He received his B.S. from Florida International University.  His legal experience includes working as a legal intern at the Federal Trade Commission and volunteering with the Small Business Brief Advice Legal Clinic.  Rolon served in U.S. Army from 2008-2012.

Gretchen Rutz is a student at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and is staff editor for the Ohio State Law Journal.  She received her B.A. summa cum laude from Capital University.  Her legal experience includes working as a judicial extern for Ohio Supreme Court Chief Justice Maureen O’Connor. 


CINCINNATI:

Jacob Bartlett is a student at the University of Kentucky College of Law.  He received his B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Kentucky.  His legal experience includes working as a law clerk at a business law firm.


Megan Hurd is a student at the University of Cincinnati College of Law, an associate member of the University of Cincinnati Law Review and an article editor of Human Rights Quarterly. She received her B.A. summa cum laude from The Ohio State University.  Her legal experience includes working as a legal intern for Cincinnati Public Schools.


CLEVELAND:

Khouloude Abboud just completed her first year as a student at Case Western Reserve University School of Law.  She received her B.S. cum laude from Tulane University.  Abboud has spent time shadowing medical professionals and helping facilitate recreational therapy for patients in the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Rehabilitation Center.

Anne Hurst is a student at Case Western Reserve University School of Law and an associate editor the Case Western Reserve Law Review.  She received her B.S. summa cum laude from Emerson College. Her legal experience includes serving as a law clerk at The Sherwin-Williams Company.  Prior to starting law school, Hurst spent four years working as a business marketing consultant.

Diana Nassar is a student at Cleveland-Marshall College of Law and an associate editor of the Journal of Law and Health.  She has a LLM in US and global legal students from Case Western Reserve University and received a bachelor degree in law from Lebanese University in Beirut, Lebanon.  Her legal experience includes working as a law clerk at a personal injury firm and as a legal extern in the Ohio Attorney General’s Office.

Cauley Simmons is a student at Case Western Reserve University School of Law and an associate editor the Case Western Reserve Law Review. She received her B.A. from Clemson University.  Her legal experience includes working as a legal extern for the John Carroll University Office of Legal Affairs and as a volunteer for the Legal Aid Society of Cleveland’s Brief Advice Clinic.

HOUSTON:

Reed Fryar is a student at the University of Houston Law Center and the president of the Student Bar Association.   She received her B.A. from the University of Houston.  Her legal experience includes working as a judicial intern for the Honorable Judge Larry Weiman in the 80th Civil District Court of Harris County and as a judicial intern for the Honorable Magistrate Judge Frances H. Stacy in the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of Texas.
