Experienced Patent and Trademark Attorney Anthony Venturino Joins Vorys

Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP announced today that Anthony Venturino has joined the firm as a partner in the Washington, D.C. office.  Venturino has nearly 30 years of experience in patent law with particular technical expertise in chemistry, catalysts, oil, gas and coal processing, metallurgy, surfactants, polymers, pharmaceuticals, compositions, biotechnology and medical devices.

“We’re excited to welcome Anthony to the firm,” said Whitney Gibson, chair of the Vorys information technology and intellectual property group. “His expertise in a number of scientific areas will both strengthen and complement the specialties we offer to our clients.”

Venturino has prepared numerous U.S. and PCT patent applications, trademark applications and opinions and has participated in major intellectual property litigation.  He is responsible for a number of complex activities including negotiating and drafting agreements, conducting due diligence for multi-million dollar technology acquisitions and counseling senior management on intellectual property issues.

“Vorys is a great fit for me,” said Venturino. “The patent team includes a number of experienced, talented and respected patent and IP attorneys.  I’m very much looking forward to practicing with them.”

Prior to joining Vorys, Venturino held numerous roles.  He was a partner at Novak Druce Connolly Bove + Quigg LLP in Washington, D.C., served as patent counsel for the U.S. Surgical Corporation, was a chemical engineer with Exxon and was a licensed professional engineer in New Jersey.

Venturino is a past president of the National Association of Patent Practitioners.  He has also chaired the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s Intellectual Property Practice in Europe Committee and currently chairs the Association’s Patent Harmonization Task Force.

Venturino received his J.D. cum laude from George Washington University Law School.  He received his M.Ch.E. in chemical engineering and his B.Ch.E. magna cum laude from Manhattan College.
