19th Annual Ohio Tax Conference

Vorys attorneys presented at the 19th Annual Ohio Tax Conference on January 28-29, 2010.

Scott Ziance participated in a panel discussion on developments in sales and use, commercial activity, municipal income, pass-though entity and personal income taxes, as well as economic incentives and tax credits.  Mr. Ziance also presented on Ohio economic development incentives.

Chris Connelly spoke on noteworthy changes made to Ohio’s job creation tax credit and job retention tax credit and the practical effects related to the changes.

Dave Froling discussed what led Ohio to adopt an expense addback statute and what these statues hold in store in light of recent case law and legislative developments surrounding mandatory unitary combined reporting and gross receipts taxes.

Hilary Houston presented on tax exempt facilities and the tax benefits in Ohio, as well as tips on preparing applications.

Jesse Cook-Dubin spoke on state tax considerations in the restructuring of debt and bankruptcy.

Mark Norman presented on the mandates, credits, incentives, and opportunities surrounding climate change and sustainability.

Nicholas Ray will present on significant recent developments in Ohio real property taxation.
