Introduction to Careers in Intellectual Property Law: Patent Agents and Scientific Advisors

On December 1, 2021, Tom Thrash and Valerie Moore, patent agents in the Vorys Houston and Orange County offices, hosted a webinar providing a brief overview of intellectual property law and patents, with focus upon patent agent and scientific advisor (SAPA) careers. After a brief introduction to the patenting process, the webinar discussed the responsibilities of SAPAs within the patenting process. Attendees were educated on paths to becoming a SAPA, including additional programming available through Vorys for those interested in SAPA careers.
