Elisabeth is an associate in the Pittsburgh office and a member of the technology and intellectual property group. She advises clients on intellectual property matters, including patent law.

Elisabeth focuses on patent prosecution, patent infringement and validity assessment, and freedom-to-operate analyses. Elisabeth has an extensive background in organic, inorganic and polymer chemistry, as well as research experience in areas involving pharmaceutical development, biochemistry, and materials science. She also has experience serving as a scientific information analyst, a research scientist in a pharmaceutical company, and as an X-ray crystallographer and post-doctoral research associate at the University of Oregon, where her work involved the development and optimization of new synthetic strategies for preparing novel discrete inorganic nanoclusters and the investigation of metal-organic receptors for biological compounds. Elisabeth is an inventor in a U.S. patent (U.S. Patent No. 7,927,569) and is an author in 21 articles in scientific and legal journals including one that was highlighted as an Editor’s Choice in the magazine Science.  

She received her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law, where she served as executive student articles editor of the Duquesne Law Review, and her Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of South Florida for her research on supramolecular metal-organic and organic materials. Elisabeth received her M.S. in organic chemistry (with a thesis on the olefin metathesis of oxygenated alkenes) and her B.S. in chemistry (with a thesis on the Pauson-Khand reaction using various transition metals) from the University Claude Bernard in Lyon, France. Elisabeth is fluent in French.
