Scientific Advisor/Patent Agent Internship | Houston

Vorys is pleased to offer a paid summer internship in our Houston office for persons who are interested in careers as patent agents and scientific advisors.  Applicants must be either recent graduates or students within 1 year of completing a bachelor’s degree or advanced degree in the natural sciences or engineering by the beginning of the internship.  May and December 2022 graduates are encouraged to apply.  Preference will be given to applicants holding or nearing completion of an advanced degree, although highly qualified undergraduate students will also be considered.  Suitable degrees include, but are not limited to, chemistry, materials science, physics, biology, biochemistry, cell biology, environmental science, engineering (all types), computer science, computer engineering, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology, and robotics.  Further preference may be given to applicants who (i) participated in the Vorys December 2021 seminar entitled Introduction to Careers in Intellectual Property Law: Patent Agents and Scientific Advisors and (ii) completed the Vorys January 2022 Patent Agent and Scientific Advisor Career Deep-Dive Workshop.    

Interns will receive initial training in patent law and have the opportunity to work on patent prosecution activities during their internship.  The paid internship will involve full-time training (Monday through Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm) beginning on May 31, 2022 and continuing until July 8, 2022.
