Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP is currently accepting resumes for the position of Chief Human Resources Officer, in our Columbus, Ohio office.  Reporting directly to the management of the firm, this position is responsible for the human resources function firm-wide, with attorneys, paralegals and staff located in seven offices in Ohio, Texas, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. 

This position collaborates with firm management to ensure financial strategies are met and appropriate levels of service are delivered in all areas of Administration. This position will establish, implement, revise and maintain policies and procedures related to operations, and oversee compliance of established policies in a geographically dispersed, multi-site environment.

Demonstrated expertise of HR practices in the areas of employee relations, staffing, compensation, performance management, succession planning, salary administration and benefits is required. Qualified candidates must be proficient with expense budgeting and have the ability to achieve financial objectives by forecasting human resources requirements. Experience with oversight of outsourcing relationships.  Proven success in recruiting, mentoring, managing and developing staff in multiple offices is essential. This position assures employees are paid correctly and timely and is responsible for confidentiality of payroll and Human Resources Information Systems.  Strong delegation and leadership skills are required. A critical part of this leadership role is the responsibility for the outcome of employee relations of support staff firm-wide.

Candidates must possess a strong client service demeanor, excellent verbal, written, listening and problem solving skills with a high degree of discretion and independent judgment. The ability to travel to all offices is required.

Qualified candidates will possess a BS/BA degree, with SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, SPHR or CLM certification strongly desired. This position requires a minimum of 10 years of core, progressive HR experience, with 5 years in a management capacity. Management experience in a multi-site professional services organization preferred.  Law firm experience preferred.
