Lauren is of counsel in the Vorys Washington, D.C. office and is a member of the finance, energy and real estate group.  She has more than 15 years of experience working on real estate matters both in private practice and in-house at the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia.  Lauren has significant experience assisting for-profit and nonprofit developers in connection with complex multi-family affordable housing and economic development projects.  This includes negotiating the financing for projects financed with Low-Income Housing Tax Credits, FHA-insured loans, tax-exempt bond financing, private loans and debt assumption.

Lauren’s finance experience also includes advising clients on gap financing structures, including mezzanine and subordinate debt from private lenders, HOME and Community Development Block Grants, and local housing trust funds.  In addition, she has helped clients with entity structure and formed corporations, limited liability companies and partnerships.

During her time in the Office of the Attorney General for the District of Columbia, Lauren advised the Department of Housing and Community Development on real estate and general business matters to promote stabilization of District neighborhoods.  She drafted solicitations for offers and disposition agreements for the development of abandoned, vacant or blighted lots, single-family and multi-family properties and assisted in the drafting and execution of pre-award and post-award of development contracts.

Lauren received her J.D. from Saint Louis University School of Law and her B.A. from Cornell College.
