Michael J. Settineri
Mr. Settineri is an associate in the Vorys Columbus office and a member of both the energy and utilities group and the labor and employment group. He represents clients in utility and energy matters, including litigation, before the Ohio Power Siting Board, the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio and the Ohio Oil and Gas Commission. Mr. Settineri’s energy practice includes a significant emphasis on the development and siting of renewable energy projects. As a member of the labor and employment group, Mr. Settineri advises clients on ERISA fiduciary compliance issues in addition to representing clients in ERISA litigation matters including claims for benefits, breach of fiduciary claims and recovery of delinquent contributions.
His notable experience includes:

Member of the trial team that successfully represented a developer obtain the first construction permit issued for a wind farm in the State of Ohio

Litigating a variety of ERISA cases on a national basis, including appeals to various federal appellate courts

Negotiating wind turbine leases on behalf of landowners

Representing clients in billing and metering disputes with public utilities

Resolving pension plan withdrawal liability issues for multiple clients
Mr. Settineri is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association.
Mr. Settineri has spoken at seminars on various topics relating to mineral interest conflicts, employee benefit plans and domestic partnership benefits.
Mr. Settineri received his J.D. cum laude from Capital University Law School and his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Michigan.
