Since the advent of environmental law in the early 1970s, our environmental and natural resources practice has provided a full range of environmental law services to our clients.  Our practice includes extensive experience in representing clients when environmental matters end up in court.

We regularly appear before courts and administrative agencies across the nation in both civil and criminal environmental proceedings.  Our attorneys have defended actions, including class actions and citizen suits, for personal injury, property damage, and cost recovery arising from alleged exposures to hazardous, radioactive, and/or toxic substances.  Over the years, we have also served as common counsel in Superfund cases across the country, including California, Delaware, Illinois, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Nebraska, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Tennessee.  In our litigation engagements, we have addressed claims under RCRA, FIFRA, CERCLA, and other federal and state statutes, as well as common law claims for negligence, trespass, and nuisance, among others.

Over the years, our attorneys have had substantial experience both in defending civil and criminal environmental cases and in negotiating settlements of those cases.  In addition, we have assisted and counseled our clients during enforcement investigations, and have provided guidance on managing environmental misconduct by employees and responding to search warrants and civil subpoenas, as well as on establishing and maintaining prudent recordkeeping practices.
