Our work in this area includes providing analysis and proactive recommendations with respect to potential claims, assisting in the creation and implementation of claims avoidance policies, providing advice on insurance coverage, defending lawsuits and attorney disciplinary proceedings, and counseling on law firm employment issues.
We offer our clients in this area thoughtful judgment and significant experience. Our attorneys include a former Chair of the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on Lawyers’ Professional Liability. We understand when our clients need to have claims resolved quickly, reasonably, and discreetly, and we endeavor to provide our services efficiently and effectively.
We have tried legal malpractice cases in California, Washington, D.C., Maryland, New York, Ohio, Virginia, and Washington, among other locations, and have represented law firm clients in federal and state courts throughout the country. We have litigated malpractice claims arising out of complex patent, medical malpractice, estate planning, and business transaction disputes and have defended our lawyer clients against many other kinds of claims, including breach of fiduciary duty and self-dealing claims and claims for violation of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and the securities laws.
