Jocelyn N. Prewitt-Stanley
Ms. Prewitt-Stanley is an associate in the Vorys Columbus office and a member of the litigation group. She has defended financial institutions in mortgage fraud cases, cognovit disputes, priority disputes and other commercial matters. She has represented insurance companies in coverage disputes, ERISA and bad faith claims. Ms. Prewitt-Stanley also serves on the national coordination counsel team for a Fortune 500 company in asbestos litigation.
Career highlights include:
- Serving as first chair in a jury trial related to an invasion of privacy issue
- Serving as first chair in a bench trial concerning a contract dispute
- Defending clients before the Ohio Civil Rights Commission in housing and employment claims
- Significant investigation and motion writing experience in toxic tort and products liability matters
Ms. Prewitt-Stanley is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the American Bar Association.
Ms. Prewitt-Stanley received her J.D. from The University of Iowa College of Law and where she was a member of the Journal of Gender, Race and Justice. She received her B.A. from Grinnell College.
