David W. Hardymon
Mr. Hardymon is a partner in the Vorys Columbus office and a member of the litigation group. His practice focuses on commercial litigation, particularly in energy-related fields, such as oil and gas contract disputes, royalty litigaton, landfill controversies, and environmental contamination claims.
Career highlights include:
- Extensive civil, criminal and appellate litigation experience
- Serving as lead counsel in over 40 jury trials
- Serving as co-counsel with John Keller of the Vorys firm in the successful prosecution of an oil and gas case that resulted in what was then the largest arbitration award ever received in the Midwest Region of the American Arbitration Association
- Serving as lead counsel for plaintiff in a superfund cost recovery action that resulted in a multi-million dollar arbitration award.
Mr. Hardymon is admitted to practice before state and federal courts in Ohio, Kentucky and West Virginia, as well as before the United States Supreme Court. He is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the West Virginia Bar Association, the Kentucky Bar Association, the Columbus Bar Association, and the Defense Research Institute.
Mr. Hardymon received his J.D. from Capital University Law School and his B.A. from Bowling Green State University. He is a frequent lecturer on legal ethics and royalty litigation.
Mr. Hardymon is a Columbus Bar Foundation Fellow and the current editor of the Columbus Bar Association publication Lawyer’s Quarterly.
Before joining Vorys Mr. Hardymon served as a Senior Assistant Prosecuting Attorney for Franklin County, Ohio from 1976 to 1981.
