Cynthia A. Shafer
Ms. Shafer is of counsel in the Vorys Cincinnati office and a member of the corporate and finance practice group. She counsels clients in the area of corporate law, securities law, savings and loan law, and banking law.
Career highlights include:
- Assisting financial institutions and their publicly-owned holding companies with federal and state securities law compliance and mergers and acquisitions, including mergers and acquisitions of other financial institutions and acquisitions of insurance agencies
- Representing savings associations in their conversions from mutual to stock form, including the initial public offering of stock, as well as various regulatory, supervisory and enforcement matters
Ms. Shafer is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the Cincinnati Bar Association.
Ms. Shafer has spoken on topics regarding compliance by corporate insiders with securities trading regulations and the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
Ms. Shafer received her J.D. from the University of Cincinnati College of Law where she was a member of the Order of the Coif and her B.S. magna cum laude from Bowling Green State University.
