Keller Quoted in Columbus Business First Story Titled “Ohio Supreme Court to Decide Who Regulates Drilling –State or Local Communities”

John Keller, a partner in the Vorys Columbus office and a member of the firm’s energy subgroup, was quoted throughout a Columbus Business First story about a case that the Ohio Supreme Court has decided to hear.  The case centers around the Ohio Department of Natural Resources’ exclusive authority under state law to regulate oil and gas drilling activities.

The story states:

“If the Supreme Court overturns the state law, every local government would have the authority to regulate drilling even if they lack the expertise to do so, Keller told me.

‘We’re optimistic that this is an opportunity for the Supreme Court to confirm what the law is on a statewide basis and eliminate any lingering concerns (about state authority),’ he said.”
