Balmert Elected Vice President of the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys

F. Daniel (Dan) Balmert, the managing partner of the Vorys Akron office, was elected to serve as the vice president of the Association of Defense Trial Attorneys (ADTA).   Balmert has served on ADTA’s executive council since 2006, most recently as its secretary.

Membership in the ADTA is limited to only one lawyer per one million persons in a community.  The Association promotes quality networking and provides outstanding educational programs, which improve the trial skills of its members.   Founded as the Association of Insurance Attorneys in 1941, it has established itself as one of the premier defense trial attorney organizations in the legal profession.

Balmert practices in the areas of general litigation, product litigation, employment law, and workers’ compensation.  He focuses on defense of employment and product liability matters in federal and state courts in Ohio and surrounding states.  He is licensed in the state and federal courts of Ohio, and is admitted to practice in the United States District Court, Eastern and Western Districts of Michigan and the United States District Court, District of Nebraska.

Balmert is a member of the Defense Research Institute, the Federal Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and the Akron Bar Association, and is a Master Bencher in the Cleveland Employment American Inn of Court. He received his J.D. magna cum laude from Capital University Law School where he was a member of the Order of the Curia.  Balmert received his B.A. cum laude from the University of Notre Dame.
