2/1/10 Vorys Boosts Corporate and Financial Services Practices with M. Patricia Oliver
Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP is pleased to welcome M. Patricia Oliver as a partner in its Cleveland office. Oliver’s practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and regulatory compliance, securities law, and general corporate representation for public and privately held companies.
Oliver served as Executive Vice President of BB&T and Branch Banking and Trust Company, and as General Counsel, Corporate Secretary and Chief Corporate Governance Officer of BB&T Corporation for nearly four years. BB&T is among the top 20 largest bank holding companies in the United States.

Prior to joining BB&T, Oliver was a partner at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey LLP, where she chaired the firm’s financial services practice and served as lead counsel for several leading financial services companies.
Oliver received her J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, where she was the Managing Editor of the school’s law review. She is a member of the Leadership Cleveland Class of 2000, a recipient of the Cleveland YWCA’s Professional Woman of Excellence Award, and a recipient of Northern Ohio Live Magazine’s Rainmaker Award.
