9/8/09 Vorys Associate Named Chair of Columbus Bar Association's Real Property Law Committee
Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP is pleased to announce that Gretchen D. Jeffries, an associate in the Columbus office, has been named chair of the Columbus Bar Association’s Real Property Law Committee. Jeffries is the first woman to serve as chair.
In her new role, Jeffries will oversee monthly meetings of the committee which focus on the professional education and networking opportunities for attorneys practicing residential and commercial real estate law. Jeffries’ responsibilities include identifying speakers to present timely, relevant issues and topics to the group and assisting in planning upcoming Continuing Legal Education (CLE) programs.
Jeffries is a member of Vorys’ commercial and real estate group. Her practice focuses on real estate finance, commercial real property acquisition, sale and development, annexation and zoning matters, and leasing and disposition. She also advises clients with respect to commercial mortgage lending as well as multiple economic development incentive projects, including projects with community reinvestment area exemptions and tax increment financing.
Jeffries received her J.D. with honors from The University of Texas School of Law and her B.A. summa cum laude from The Ohio State University. She will serve as the Vice-Chair of the Easements, Restrictions and Covenants Committee of the American Bar Association’s Real Property, Probate and Trust Section in the upcoming year, is a member of the editorial staff of the American Bar Association Real Property, Probate and Trust Section’s e-REPORT, and sits on the planning committee for the annual Real Property Law Institute.
