11/17/08 Kuykendall Appointed to Statewide Health Care Commission

Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP is proud to announce that Laura G. Kuykendall, a partner in the Columbus office, has been jointly appointed by Ohio Senate President Bill Harris and Speaker of the House Representative Jon A. Husted to serve on the Joint Legislative Study Commission on Most Favored Nation Clauses in Health Care Contracts.  The Commission, established to fulfill a provision of HB-125, the Health Care Simplification Act, will research and report on how availability and accessibility of quality health care is influenced by most favored nation clauses within health care contracts. 

Kuykendall is a member of the litigation practice group where her practice focuses on antitrust and trade regulation, as well as other complex business litigation including insurance coverage, class actions, contract disputes, securities litigation, trade secrets and corporate takeovers.  She regularly speaks to various bar and professional associations on antitrust and trial practice issues.  She is currently a member of the OSBA Antitrust Section Council.  Kuykendall has been a faculty member of the National Institute of Trial Advocacy, teaching deposition skills, since 1993.

Kuykendall is a member of the American, Ohio State and Columbus Bar Associations, as well as a Fellow of the Columbus Bar Foundation.  She received her J.D. from the University of Virginia School of Law.
