Carroll Elected to National Board of Leukemia & Lymphoma Society
4/13/07Scott Carroll, President of the Southern Ohio Chapter of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS), has been elected to the National Board of Trustees Executive Committee of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
“Scott has been a dynamic leader for our chapter and has been active for many years on the national stage also,” said Jay Van Winkle, National Director, Donor Development for LLS and the former executive director for the Southern Ohio Chapter. “He will be a great contributor in his new national role.”
Mr. Carroll is a partner with the law firm of Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP, specializing in labor and employment law. He has been involved with the Southern Ohio Chapter of the LLS since 1996 and has served on the board since 2002. Mr. Carroll has also served on the LLS National Board of Representatives and was a Co-Chair of the LLS Strategic Plan national task force.
“This is a great honor,” said Mr. Carroll. “We’re making great progress every day in our mission to defeat blood cancers and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.”
Mr. Carroll is active with the Society’s Team in Training (TNT) program, completing the 2004 Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon, and participating in the Walt Disney World Triathlon in 2006. TNT is the world’s largest endurance sports training program, and provides participants with personalized coaching and fundraising support to complete full or half marathons, triathlons or century (100 mile) bicycle rides while raising money for LLS.
Mr. Carroll is a 10-year blood cancer survivor. He was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in 1996 and was declared cancer-free following nine months of treatment with radiation and chemotherapy.
Mr. Carroll and his wife and daughter live in Mount Lookout.
