Vorys Cincinnati Selected for ABA-EPA Law Office Climate Challenge
6/19/08Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP is pleased to announce that it has been approved by the American Bar Association as a participating law firm in the ABA-EPA Law Office Climate Challenge. The program is designed to help law firms become leaders in the national movement towards sustainability and climate protection.
The ABA Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources (SEER) and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) designed the Climate Challenge program to encourage law offices to take simple, practical steps to become better environmental and energy stewards.
“Vorys is thrilled to be a part of such an important program,” said William D. Hayes, a partner in the Cincinnati office and a member of the energy, environment and utilities group. “In order to continue counseling our clients through critical green initiatives, we need to take significant steps to ensure our firm is implementing these best practices,” said Hayes.
Hayes, along with several other attorneys started a “green team” in 2007 to help the firm make office operation decisions with the environment in mind. “We want to lead the efforts of Midwestern law firms going green and challenge other firms to do the same.”
