Dorothea K. Langsam
Ms. Langsam is an associate in the Vorys Cincinnati office and a member of the litigation practice group. She has significant experience in employment litigation, wills and trusts, the False Claims Act, ERISA and securities, and constitutional law. Ms. Langsam has successfully represented clients in state and federal courts, mediation, arbitration, class actions, and appeals.
Her career highlights include:
- Successfully arguing both summary judgment motion and appeal in toxic tort litigation in Ohio’s First District
- Member of trial team that won unanimous jury verdict after four-week will contest
- Obtaining dismissal of wage-and-hour class action in federal court
- Successfully arguing appeal in immigration matter in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit
- Obtaining a reversal in the Ninth Circuit of denial of habeas corpus, and on remand reversal of murder conviction
- Successfully arbitrating claims on behalf of California court employees against the California state courts
Ms. Langsam is a member of the Cincinnati Bar Association Admissions Committee.
Ms. Langsam received her J.D. summa cum laude from Indiana University School of Law where she was the Executive Articles Editor of the Indiana Law Journal. She received her B.A. from Macalester College.
Ms. Langsam was a law clerk for the Honorable Marsha Berzon on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and for the Honorable Thomas Ambro on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
Before joining Vorys, Ms. Langsam practiced at the San Francisco law firm of Altshuler Berzon LLP.
