Louis Gubinsky
Mr. Gubinsky is of counsel in the Vorys Washington, D.C. office and a member of the Technology and Intellectual Property group. He specializes in patents related to chemical and biological sciences and has had extensive experience in interference proceedings before the U.S. Patent Office. Mr. Gubinsky handles inventions in matters ranging from inorganic and organic chemistry to complex biological science (for example, new and old chemical compounds exhibiting biological activity), biosensors, biotechnology and mechanical inventions, including those related to the medical field.
Career highlights include:
- Representing numerous companies in license agreement negotiations with both universities and large pharmaceutical companies
- Representing clients in patent interferences and settlements
Before joining Vorys, Mr. Gubinsky was a partner and member of the management committee in a national intellectual property law firm based in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Gubinsky has lectured on interference practice and other administrative procedures before the U.S. Patent Office.
Mr. Gubinsky received his J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center. He received his B.S., with high honors, in pharmacy, from the University of Maryland.
