Philip A. Brown
Mr. Brown is a retired partner in the Vorys Columbus office. His experience in financial litigation includes matters involving auditor and accountant liability, securities fraud defense as well as the representation of issuers and auditors in U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) enforcement investigations.
Career highlights include:
- Defense of auditors in class actions and SEC investigations relating to insurance accounting, revenue recognition and restatements
- Defense of auditors including defense verdict at trial, of fraud-on-the-market class action relating to tax provision accounting and minority interest accounting
Mr. Brown is a member of the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association and the Columbus Bar Association.
Mr. Brown received his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School. He received his B.A. from George Washington University where he received Special Honors in History and was Phi Beta Kappa.
