Phillip J. Smith

Mr. Smith is a partner in the Vorys Cincinnati office and a member of the litigation group. Mr. Smith specializes in litigation for commercial and corporate clients, including construction, class action, insurance, and employment matters at the trial and appellate levels. His experience includes work in eminent domain litigation, defending against class action certification in federal and state courts on consumer protection and product liability claims, handling distributorship disputes, and pursuing the interests of developers, owners, design professionals and contractors in construction disputes.

- Experience in the trial courts and on appellate matters, as well as in alternative dispute resolution and arbitration
- Working with clients to advance their interests in litigation while coordinating with and being sensitive to clients ' other business needs
- Frequent experience with commercial matters involving claims for emergency injunctive relief
Mr. Smith is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association, the Cincinnati Bar Association and the Republican National Lawyers Association.
Mr. Smith received his J.D. cum laude from the University of Michigan Law School and was a member of the University of Michigan Journal of Law Reform. He received his B.A. summa cum laude from Miami University where he was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
