Mr. Spina is a senior attorney in the Vorys Columbus office and a member of the corporate and finance practice group.  He handles regulatory and transactional matters for all types of insurance companies and entities regulated by the Ohio Department of Insurance, including multiple employer welfare arrangements (MEWAs), fraternal benefit associations, health insuring corporation and viatical/life settlement companies.

His notable experience includes:

• Handling Form A, Form B, Form C, and Form D transactions
• Handling both the creation and purchase of all types of insurance companies in Ohio
• Handling numerous Department of Insurance investigations in both the financial regulation and market conduct areas

Mr. Spina is a member of the American and Ohio Bar Associations.

Mr. Spina received his J.D. cum laude from Capital University Law School and his B.S. from The University of Akron.

Mr. Spina clerked for the Honorable David W. Fais of the  Franklin County, Ohio Common Pleas Court

Before joining Vorys, Mr. Spina was an in-house attorney and Acting Assistant Director of Life and Health with the Ohio Department of Insurance.
