Carl A. Lux
Cincinnati Office
Mr. Lux is an associate in the Vorys Cincinnati office and a member of the commercial and real estate group. His finance and real estate experience is broad and national in scope. It includes representation of borrowers in connection with portfolio loans collateralized with participations in underlying pools of mezzanine loans, representation of issuers in connection with syndication of equity interests, representation of borrowers and lenders in connection with mezzanine financing and asset-based lending, and representation of buyers and sellers in traditional acquisitions and dispositions of real property.
His notable experience includes:
- Representing a lender in connection with a $15 million mezzanine revolving line of credit to be used for land acquisitions by a retail developer in Florida
- Representing a purchaser in connection with a $38 million acquisition of an office building portfolio in Columbus, Ohio, including associated mortgage and mezzanine acquisition financing
- Representing a purchaser in connection with separate acquisitions of shopping centers in Nevada and Georgia, including assumption of mortgage financing and syndication of equity interests in purchaser
- Representing a lender in connection with a $9 million mezzanine loan related to construction of a 75-story office building, parking garage, and 400-unit hotel in Miami, Florida
- Representing a purchaser in connection with the acquisition of a portfolio of 36 department stores located in the southwestern United States
Mr. Lux is a member of the Ohio State Bar Association and the California Bar Association.
Mr. Lux has made presentations at seminars relating to real estate lending requirements, loan documentation, primary types of mortgages, and basic real estate transactions.
Mr. Lux received his J.D. cum laude from the Boston University School of Law, his M.A. from Wright State University and his B.A. from The Ohio State University.
