Joseph B. Mullaney

Mr. Mullaney is an associate in the Vorys Alexandria office and a member of the litigation practice group. He has successfully prosecuted on behalf of and defended clients in contentious domestic relations cases at both the trial level and the appellate level. Mr. Mullaney also has a broad range of civil litigation experience, including complex medical malpractice, legal malpractice and numerous personal injury claims.
His notable experience includes:
- Serving as an aide to Chief Justice William H. Rehnquist and Associate Justice Stephen G. Breyer of the Supreme Court of the United States from October 1998 to July 2003.
Mr. Mullaney is admitted to practice in Virginia and the District of Columbia. Mr. Mullaney is a member of the Virginia Bar Association and the Fairfax County Bar Association.
Mr. Mullaney received his J.D. from George Mason University School of Law and his B.S. from Frostburg State University. He also completed the Legal Assistant and Paralegal Certification Program at Georgetown University.
Mr. Mullaney clerked for The Honorable Jonathan C. Thacher of the Fairfax County Circuit Court, 19th Judicial District.
