Alan T. Radnor
Columbus Office
Mr. Radnor is a litigation partner in the Vorys Columbus office. As a trial lawyer he specializes in the presentation and advocacy of medical/legal issues. He has represented both defendants and plaintiffs in medical malpractice, toxic torts and personal injury cases throughout Ohio in both state and federal courts. Mr. Radnor also represents hospitals and medical staffs, drafts medical staff bylaws, works with physicians on medical staff selection issues and advises physicians on medical ethics.
Career highlights include:
- Successfully prosecuting the first Ohio case determining birth certificate paternity in an in vitro fertilization case
- Successfully defending asbestos manufacturers in jury trials involving asbestos-related diseases, including mesothelioma
- Successfully defending one of the first litigated fear of cancer cases
- Receiving record plaintiff's verdicts in four Ohio counties
Mr. Radnor is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and a member of the International Association of Defense Counsel, the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Association of Defense Attorneys, the Defense Research Institute, the American Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, and the Columbus Bar Association.
Mr. Radnor has spoken extensively on a variety of topics including medical malpractice, legal and ethical issues in medical genetics and pediatrics, brain death protocol, communications in the courtroom and the linguistic aspects of jury instructions and professionalism.
Mr. Radnor received his J.D. cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Law where he was a member of the Ohio State Law Journal and the Order of the Coif. He received his M.S. from The Ohio State University, and his B.A. from Kenyon College.
