Steven R. Becker

Mr. Becker is a partner in the Vorys Washington, D.C. office and a member of the litigation group. His practice focuses on professional liability defense, legal malpractice defense, attorney discipline and broker/financial institution arbitrations. He also specializes in non-union employment law.
Career highlights include:
- Successfully expanding the scope of the absolute privilege in the District of Columbia to protect lawyers in pre-litigation communications with prospective clients.
- Obtaining a reversal of a multi-million dollar jury award against a park operator and clarification of the application of a Maryland procedural “trap for the unwary.”
Mr. Becker is a member of the American Bar Association, the Maryland Bar Association, the Virginia Bar Association and the District of Columbia Bar. Mr. Becker is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia.
Mr. Becker presented updates on employment law at the 2000 NAMIC Property Casualty Conference.
Mr. Becker received his J.D. from The George Washington University Law School where he was on the National Moot Court Team and was awarded the Van Vleck Moot Court Award. Mr. Becker received his A.B. with honors in government from Lafayette College where he was a recipient of the Chase Award in Government & Law.
